SOLD OUT: Fine Arts, and Silly Faces That Unmask Our True Selves

Last night at the prestigious Fine Arts Theater @ Novo Centro, Jorge Morillo and I had the honor of presenting to a «SOLD OUT» crowd at #CinemaSessions during the Hecho en RD Festival—produced by our Caribbean Family.

To José Rafael Sosa—thank you for your powerful Aluminum Flower analogy.

To the Caribbean Films team—thank you for making us feel at home.

We came to talk about Editing and VFX—but something deeper happened.

At the end, I invited the entire crowd on stage—not for a formal photo, but for a silly one. Where the masks we wear come off. (Notice my fatness, please )

Not for attention.

But for liberation.

Because I believe something deeply:

We are not perfect.

AND WE ARE NOT MEANT TO BE.

We are walking stories—messy, beautiful, unpredictable. We carry joy and doubt, dreams and fear, brilliance and chaos… all at once!

And when we try to be polished all the time… we lose the spark of who we truly are.

Last night wasn’t about being on stage.

It was about being together. Alive in the imperfection of the moment. Radiant in our own flaws. Flaws that make us human.

So here’s my message:

Stop trying to be perfect.

Stop waiting for the “right” moments in life.

Dance out of rhythm.

Embrace your quirks.

Laugh too loud.

Make the silly faces.

Because greatness begins the moment you stop performing…

and start believing—

in your raw, honest, unfiltered self.

Through Editing and VFX, we didn’t just fix imperfections…We honored them.

We decided which ones to refine—

…and which ones to let shine.

Because the ones we let shine…

Are the ones that mark us.

The ones that leave a lasting impression.

The ones that make cinema—and life—unforgettable.

To everyone who attended—thank you.

To Jorge—my brother in the craft, thank you.

To my Caribbean Family—always.

And to you, who read this post to the very end…

My voice is my legacy.

And my words are the mark I leave on this world.
